Our hygienists would like to share with you the importance of having good oral hygiene during the third wave of the Covid-19 pandemic.

A recent study from McGill University found that patients with periodontitis or gum disease were more likely to suffer more complications when they contracted Covid-19.  Here is the link to the article about the study:

Gum disease is an infection of the gum and sometimes involving the bone in the jaws.  Signs of gum disease can be bleeding, red and swollen gums, loose teeth, bad breath and sometimes even pain.  Poor dental health can lower your immune system, which in return can increase your risk of having other infections.  Having diligent home care and regular dental hygiene visits are keys to maintaining good overall health.  As always, our hygienists are here to help you stay healthy and to answer any questions you may have.

We continue to maintain strict health and safety protocols to keep everyone safe, and we look forward to seeing you soon.

Stay safe and healthy,

Dr. Ung, Dr. Chow & team
